Blog #7

Well the other day this man lowered the price that we agreed on. This made me enrage. Why would someone do such a thing? But finally we came to an agreement because there is nothing a black man can do against a white man. I gave the last amount of money I would ever earn the school. It made me feel really good inside, then I bought my tombstone and placed it because as you can guess I am almost dead by the time you read this I should be six feet under. This is my last post so have a nice day.

My kind neighbors helped me build my house and I told my wife to bake them a pie but she said we have nothing to make a pie. I just figured out that my daughter is 16 and has a lot of white friends. I think that’s great! She says I need to keep up with the crowd but I don’t care. Oh also Josiah Carey built a grave for Polly Burdoo in the churchyard. That was kind of him to do that for Polly. Sucks that Polly had to go. I gave one pound to their family.

Each day Moses is around it starts to get worse. My wife mostly helps me and we are struggling for food.  My wife and I are starting to get worried about food I doubt we will starve because I will sell more leather before we starve. But besides all that I am glad that my wife is helping me. It makes my life easier and my wife’s harder so she says. She has no time to herself but if she was complaining about that why is she helping me with all this its confusing.

I stood watching wile my two old masters were arguing. Later in life his children grew up. His son Roger grew up and got married and started doing the weaving trade. Roxanna grew up and was as tall as her dad and works around the house helping her mom and I learned to write and started pouring over the Boston News Letter. After my owner died and I got sold to Ms. Richardson. After a while I learned the trade of tanning. Ms. Richardson wrote up my unlimited freedom. I thought Lily because I thought she was cute and wanted to marry her

Well today my wife, kids and I started packing. Yes that’s right we are moving.  When we started moving old Cyclops started to get tired so my wife and I had to walk beside him I guess to motivate him to get up the steep hills. On our last hill my wife said ‘’is this the hill to our death?’’ That will was steep but I love our new house. I promised this old man that I would make his family new shoes.  A couple days ago I started hurting for food and money. Because of Moses my days are getting crueler.

Well today I was riding on my hoarse Cyclops and I found this really awesome mountain and I asked the lord  for a sign if this is the place for me to start my life again. Then I was rolling around and I saw two slaves, I asked their master how much for both of them and he said 50 pounds for both slaves, I only had 10 pounds on me. Then I stopped for a break and saw Samuel George and out of the kindness of his heart he gave me free clothes. After a couple months I finally had enough money to buy my new wife and daughter. My wife’s name is Violet and my daughter’s name is Celyndia.

Hi my name is Amos Fortune. I was a slave; I was enslaved since I was about 14 years old. Now I am 30 years old. When I wasn't a slave my dad was a king and my mom was a queen, and my sister has a deformed foot and she was supposed to be dead but my dad sacrificed his favorite dog to keep her alive. I had two owners in my life, the first one died and auctioned me off to my new master, after a while she released me because I paid her enough money but I still work for her. I had one wife but she died one year after I freed her.
